1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or executing MindCitadel on your device, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service with Bohuslav Semenov, a sole trader (enskild näringsidkare) established in Sweden and operating the MindCitadel product. Trader contact details are inOperator & Contact. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not install or use the application.

MindCitadel is being developed for distribution via Apple’s iOS App Store. These Terms supplement and incorporate Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled; optional processing requires its own consent, not acceptance of these terms.

The app is intended for people aged 13 or over, or 16 or over in the EEA and United Kingdom, consistent with our age policy. These are product eligibility limits, not a statement of the age at which every person can consent to data processing or make a contract. If you are below the age of legal adulthood, you must have any parent or guardian authorization required by applicable law to enter this agreement or make a purchase.

2. License Grant & Platform Scope

MindCitadel grants you a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited personal license, subject to Apple’s EULA and mandatory law, to install and run the application on the compatible Apple devices identified in the App Store listing, subject to its system requirements and Apple’s usage rules.

MindCitadel does not operate cross-platform web accounts, cloud user databases, or browser-based software mirrors. Subscriptions and purchases apply strictly to the authorized Apple ecosystem associated with your Apple ID. The website’s sample Today view is an illustration, not an app screenshot. The website does not store app records, run a recorded focus session or provide paid app access.

3. Commercial Model, Subscriptions, Trials & Cancellations

MindCitadel uses a paid pass or an eligible introductory offer to provide app access. Available plans and any offer are shown before purchase. Data export, erasure and diagnostics consent controls remain available throughManage data & privacy on the access screen if paid access expires; this opens Data & backup without requiring a purchase or restore.

These are planned reference prices in US dollars, not a current offer. The App Store shows the applicable local price, billing period, taxes, and any eligible introductory offer before you confirm a purchase.

• Billing & Renewals: All transactions are billed directly to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is disabled in your Apple ID Settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancellations: You may cancel subscriptions at any time through your Apple ID Subscriptions settings (apple.co/manage-subscriptions). Turning off renewal normally leaves access until the end of the paid period; the store displays any different trial-cancellation conditions. Erasing your app records, uninstalling the app, or contacting support does not itself cancel your subscription.
• Refunds: App Store payments are handled by the relevant Apple billing provider. MindCitadel does not handle payment cards or billing databases and cannot issue refunds directly. For an App Store refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com. This purchase-support route does not restrict any statutory right to withdraw from a contract, complain about a defect, or seek a refund or other remedy from the legally responsible trader under applicable consumer law.

Statutory withdrawal: If Swedish distance-contract rules apply, the ordinary withdrawal period is 14 days from conclusion of the contract. This is separate from cancelling renewal. Exceptions depend on what was supplied and the legally required consent, acknowledgement, and confirmation; installing or using the app does not by itself waive a right. For purchases governed by Apple's Swedish terms, open your Apple Account purchase history, select the order, and choose “Ångra köp” (withdraw purchase), then confirm the request. See Apple’s withdrawal instructions. You may also exercise an applicable right through an unequivocal withdrawal statement to the trader responsible for the purchase, identifying yourself, the order, and its date; a prescribed form is not compulsory. Contact us using Operator & Contact if you need help identifying the route or have a claim concerning the app. Mandatory rights in your country remain unaffected.

4. Local Data Custody & User Backup Responsibility

Core app records are stored locally on your device. We do not operate a cloud database or remote recovery service for those records. Purchase verification, optional diagnostics, Apple Health, operating-system backups, and files you export have the separate handling described in our Privacy Policy.

• Backups: Keep backups of records you wish to preserve using Settings > Data & backup > Export backup (JSON). Choose a destination in the share sheet and keep that copy somewhere you control. Any operating-system backup depends on your device settings; it is not a backup service provided by us.
• Application Deletion: Deleting the app removes the local SQLite database. MindCitadel cannot reconstruct or restore un-backed databases resulting from device damage, loss, or app deletion.
• Plaintext JSON Portability: Data exports are generated as standard, unencrypted JSON files so you can inspect, store, or migrate your records freely.

Restore from file replaces the existing app records and settings with the selected backup; it does not merge them. Export your current records first if you want to keep them. Restoring paid access through the store does not recover your local records, and importing a backup does not restore a purchase. There is no automatic account-based record sync between devices.

5. No Medical, Psychological, or Therapeutic Advice

MindCitadel is a personal productivity, discipline tracking, and philosophical self-reflection utility. It is not a medical device, mental health clinic, or psychological counseling service.

Focus timers, Stoic reflections, morning intentions, and Memento Mori perspectives are provided for personal development and educational purposes only. They must not be construed as clinical or therapeutic advice. If you are experiencing acute stress, depression, or mental health emergencies, please consult a qualified medical professional or local healthcare provider.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits mandatory consumer rights, including applicable rights concerning the conformity of digital content or services, remedies for defects, and required updates. Subject to those rights, the app is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”; we do not give additional warranties of fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Bohuslav Semenov is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the app. This limitation does not apply to fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude or limit.

7. Intellectual Property

The MindCitadel brand, design system, Fold logo visual identity, typography treatments, and software code belong to Bohuslav Semenov or their respective licensors. Rights in third-party software, fonts, and other licensed materials remain with their owners. You retain rights in the records and content you create in the app.

8. Governing Law, Consumer Rights & Disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the law of the country where you habitually live when those protections apply, including under Article 6 of the Rome I Regulation.

Court jurisdiction is determined by applicable law. Where EU consumer jurisdiction rules apply, you may bring proceedings in the courts where you are domiciled or in Sweden, and proceedings against you may generally be brought only in the courts of your domicile. These terms do not require you to use a Swedish court or waive a consumer forum available to you.

If a complaint cannot be resolved with us, you may submit an eligible consumer dispute toAllmänna reklamationsnämnden (ARN), the Swedish National Board for Consumer Disputes, Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm, Sweden. ARN applies its own eligibility, time-limit, and value requirements and issues recommendations. This does not restrict your right to go to court.

9. Updates, Changes & Ending the Service

The App Store listing states the device and operating-system requirements for the version offered. Install updates needed for security and continued conformity. We may adapt the app for security, legal requirements, compatibility with supported systems, or technical maintenance. This is not permission to remove purchased rights or charge for a change without a lawful basis. Required updates and remedies remain governed by mandatory consumer law.

For changes beyond those needed to maintain conformity during continuous supply, we will provide a valid reason of the kind stated above, make no additional charge, and explain the change clearly. If a change negatively affects access or use by more than a minor amount, we will give reasonable advance notice on a durable medium, such as a notice you can save and reproduce unchanged. Where Swedish consumer law applies, you may terminate without charge within 30 days after receiving the notice or implementation of the change, whichever is later, unless you can keep the unchanged, conforming version at no extra cost. Applicable repayment and other remedies are preserved.

Revised terms will state their revision date and when they apply. New terms do not rewrite an existing purchase simply because this page changes or you continue to use the app. Changes to an ongoing agreement require a lawful contractual basis or your agreement, with advance notice and consent where required. Any subscription price change will follow the applicable law and App Store notification and approval process before it affects a renewal.

If we plan to discontinue the app or a paid service, we will give affected users reasonable advance notice through available app or store channels, explain export options and any applicable termination or repayment rights, and meet outstanding legal obligations. We do not promise support for every future device or operating system. Licence termination for a breach is governed by Apple's EULA and applicable law; this clause does not permit arbitrary cancellation of a valid paid purchase.
